CMS Plumbing & Bathrooms is a one-man operation run by Chris from Swineshead, just outside Boston. The standard is set by him — and stays the same on every job.
The story so far
Built on word of mouth.
Chris started CMS Plumbing & Bathrooms after years learning the trade properly — full apprenticeship, plumbing tickets, real time on real building sites. CMS grew the slow way: one finished job, one happy customer, one recommendation to a neighbour.
There is no van fleet, no sales rep, no call centre. Just one tradesman who answers his own phone and turns up when he says he will. Most of this year’s work has been for repeat customers or people they have personally introduced.
That model only works one way — by doing the job properly the first time, every time.
How we work
Six things we won’t cut corners on.
None of these are radical. They are simply how a good trade job should be done. We just commit to them in writing.

Show up on time
If we say Tuesday at 8am, that is when the van arrives. If something changes, you hear it from Chris directly, the day before — not on the day.

Quote it in writing
A site visit, a measured-up quote, and a clear written price. You will know what you are paying before any work starts.

Protect the rest of your home
Dust sheets down, doorways covered, hallway swept at the end of the day. The bathroom is the job site — the rest of the house is yours to live in.

Use the right materials
Brass valves, copper or quality multi-layer pipe, decent silicone, real tile adhesive. You only feel the difference five years in — but by then it is too late to fix.

Finish, then finish again
Silicone, sealing, sanding, snagging and a final deep-clean before handover. The job is not done until everything works and looks right.

Be there afterwards
If something needs a tweak in the first few months, pick up the phone. Most jobs don’t need it. The ones that do, get it.
